How to Use SportsMonkey

A simple guide to creating teams, hosting pickup games, accepting challenges, managing participation, and staying safe.

Create or join a team

  • Open Teams to browse teams in your area.
  • Create a team if you are organising players for a sport.
  • Team admins can manage rosters, invites, and team challenges.

Create an individual pickup game

  • Open Pickup Games and choose Individual Pickup.
  • Select sport, location, date, time, min players, max players, contribution, and notes.
  • Share the game link or invite players in the app.
  • The admin can host without automatically taking a player spot.

Create a team challenge

  • Choose As a Team when creating a pickup game.
  • Pick your team, location, date, time, and whether it is open to any eligible team or targeted to a specific team.
  • Only eligible team admins can accept or pass on behalf of a team.

Accept, pass, leave, or join standby

  • Use Accept to commit to a game or team challenge when you are eligible.
  • Use Pass if you do not want to participate or accept the invite.
  • Use Leave to stop participating after joining.
  • If a game is full, use Standby to join the waitlist.

Split teams and jersey colours

  • Game admins can split teams once players have joined.
  • Participants and relevant team members can see the lineups.
  • Jersey colours can be selected to help players coordinate on game day.
